Located between Siena and Florence and known above all for its good wine, Chianti is dotted with pretty hill top towns and villages, green hills, undulating rows of vines, olive groves and swathes of pine and ancient oak. Highly recommended is a visit to the central piazza or 'Campo', the location of the famous Palio horse race, it's colourful cathedral, pretty shops and excellent restaurants.
